Applebee`s in Ames

We stopped for dinner just after 5 p.m. That was great timing as by the time we finished our meal and being served by Brandon C. the place was packed! Good food and good service.

My boyfriend and I went there for lunch. When he went to take a drink of water there was a bug in it. I ordered the brisket tacos and the meat was mushy and they were SO cold that the cheese wasn’t even melted at all. The fries were also way over seasoned. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and shrimp and that was good so I recommend that. Our server didn’t check on us after we got our food so I couldn’t send it back quick enough. Our server was nice but didn’t give us quite enough attention. As I was talking she wouldn’t look at me and continued to look and check on other tables even though it wasn’t busy at all. Pretty disappointed overall

Went out for a Mother's Day lunch and our server Kristen was absolutely amazing. Her kindness while serving us was above and beyond. Thank you Kristen for serving us through these weird times and all the other times too! We appreciate you.

You and get great appetizer and drink specials. Their meals are great with nightly specials. Wednesday night there is a magician that comes into entertain you and your party.

Great food, fun atmosphere. Drinks delicious. Will visit again. Not too pricey.

Ok, so this is my favorite place to eat. The service is always amazing, their staff is always smiling, and the food is great! They have decent prices, and their specialty drinks are always changing and are delicious as well.

The bartender had her personal effects on a food prep area while cutting fruit for drinks. she also had her drink, and an open container on the same food prep are. I saw her cut fruit, serve a drink, and go back without washing her hands. A server stuck the drink nozzle into his used cup for a refill. Also my food was cold. Don't go here unless you really feel like gambling with food safety. I was so disgusted I didn't even eat my food. Won't be back anytime soon, if ever. Good service. The salad I got was okay but would have been better with more mixed greens and veggies... I should have asked for those

Always a great place to eat. 2 for $20/$25 is an awesome deal. The food was hot and made well and the service is good. There was no wait on a Wednesday evening. Bathrooms we're well kept.

Apps are just big enough that if you got a salad as a side and a signature mucho cocktail it's a nice little meal.

The place was clean, and our waiter kept up on drinks and what not. The food itself wasn't to die for or anything. My burger was good, but my fiances steak was definitely over cooked. We were here on lunch, so we didn't bother sending it back. Fries weren't overly hot, but not terrible. There is a good menu selection, but it's nothing to write home about. Would go back, but would probably pick another restaurant over them if possible.

I tried a pasta dish I've never had before. It was very good. My 8 month old loved the Fiesta lime chicken. My daughter's meal was only 99¢ since it was Wednesday, and she liked their yogurt and strawberries side and the kraft Mac & cheese. I love that the kids menu has a good variety of side options, and not just fries or applesauce. There was also a lady there who did magic and made balloon animals. My daughter was so excited to get a free balloon puppy with our meal.

Our waitress barely delivered our meal before throwing down the check for us to pay. We visited at the table for a couple of hours, but she never refilled drinks or removed dirty dishes. I was embarrassed for her.

Revisited Applebees tonight. Waitress was friendly, service was okay. I tried the Prohmburger which was deli ham on a single hamburger patty. It was okay, probably over priced like most of corporate america food. Sides were a joke, I got 3 onion rings and like 15 french fries. Free wifi 5g. Free soda pop refills...

They wait staff was excellent ; the food was great. Covid precautions were observed.

Great experience. My waiter was a kind young man with a great smile and a good attitude. I loved the good service and my bourbon chicken and shrimp was on point. My favorite meal of course And I give them two thumbs up

I used to love the blondie brownie with maple frosting and pecans. It was my favorite dessert in town. NOT anymore, they changed the topping to apples. Very disappointing.

Wish I could say our experience was good. The food was good but the service was awful. Our server was very rude about everything. I’ve always loved this place until today. Customer service is everything and it was definitely not given tonight. I will not be returning.

The service was a bit slow but food tasted good so that was nice. The ambience is quite good.. It has a small bar area in the center as all and booths on the sides. Food quality was good. Servers were nice. We went for the half off appetizers, it was quite good. Would come back for sure.

Made us wait an extra 20 min for curbside , wouldn't even come out and explain . Won't use again .

Delicious 4 cheese macaroni with Chicken tenders. Hope they keep it on the menu. Nice location in Ames Iowa.

Fast, friendly service. Our orders are never wrong, always fresh and hot when we use the Car Side To Go.

The Neighborhood nachos for my half priced apps were a tasty and economical choice. the service was also very prompt and they seated my party of 11 nearly instantaneously as we arrived.

I always love the broccoli cheese soup grandkids eat a lot of it too. Chicken wrap is phenominal tho has a little spice bite.

We went to Applebees for lunch on a Thursday. The staff greeted us with a smile and seated us immediately. Our server (Daniel R) was friendly, courteous, and professional and the delicious food was delivered in a quick manner. There is plenty of parking available and is easily accessible from the main street.

We wanted to have a cheat day and we ended up in Applebee’s. This place is a true gem in Ames. We took the $27 for 2 combo which includes 1 appetizer from a section of 4 and 2 entree’s from a section of 8. We took boneless wings half rack baby back ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and classic fries. There are only a number of places in Ames where I actually like the mashed potatoes. This is place is one of them. We also took bourbon street chicken with shrimp which was really good. We also ordered a chicken fajita outside this combo and I’ve had better fajitas in Ames. Applebee’s also have one $1 drink of the month and this month’s drink was called Vampire. It came with fangs on top. It actually has rum mixed with few different juices. I personally didn’t like the drink because I’m not really a fan of rum. But my friends liked it!

Good happy hour prices. Cocktails were great along with the late happy hour menu.

Food was good. Service was good except it took a long time for them to prepare our food. It wasn't that busy. Some empty tables and no one waiting. 1 pm on Saturday afternoon. Wasn't too big of a deal as we were also having a good visit.

Applebees have reasonable prices and good food. They also have a few healthy options while also sporting typical bar food, which can offer something for everyone in your group.

This restaurant was sooo clean....tables, chairs, window sills, floors! And the windows were spotless. The food was excellent and hot - highly recommend the grilled chicken bacon macaroni and cheese! The $1 cocktail was a tasty bonus. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely 5 stars.

Would be worthy of a 5 star review but they changed my beloved maple butter Blondie dessert to a version that's less fantastic

Great service, good food all the time and an amazingly comfortable setting

Man, when I ate there the food sure was great! But what I loved most about my visit there was the very nice conversation I had with my father. To anyone that goes to applebee's I recommend that you get the triple bacon burger as it really is tasty. The way the cheese melts in my mouth and how the bread crunches beneath my teeth, truley superb. I believe the best word to summarize my visit at applebee's bar and grill is wow.

Went in kinda late and the service and food was good. Had the stuffed shrimp fajitas and a Lagunitas IPA. Plenty of food. Tasted good. Stop by and check them out.
